The month of March symbolizes new growth, fertility and procreation in humans, plants and animals. As March brings the first day of Spring with the vernal equinox, it is associated with new beginnings. Its meaning embodies a kind of realigning of the hearts. Like our ancestors, we are quickened in the Springtime. Our souls long for new conquests, new adventures. And perhaps most symbolically and significantly, the tree of March is the Ash, which is so resilient and is used to make baseball bats. It's fitting, then, that the Major League Baseball season begins in March. Winter is holding back and Spring is pulling forward. Something holds, and something pulls inside of us too. March 7th is the World Day of Prayer. But we do not have to hold that to one day. We can allow ourselves to be pulled to prayer every day.
"We talked to God. That is prayer. When God talks to us, that is inspiration. We go apart to get still so that new life, new inspiration, new power of thought, new supply from The Fountainhead may flow. And then we come forth to shed it on those around us, that they too may be lifted up."
"The paradox of prayer is that as it strengthens us inwardly, it also strengthens us outwardly. As we grow spiritually, we become ever more effective catalysts of love in the marketplace. We discover the Holy One. Within us and the Holy One beyond us, we learned that there are no divisions between the sacred and the secular. When our vision is transformed, our entire life becomes imbued with God ness as we notice the Holy Ones touch anywhere and everywhere."
