The Center for Spiritual Living is an organization of more than 450 spiritual communities that provide spiritual tools to transform personal lives and help make the world a better place.
At Centers for Spiritual Living, our spiritual communities teach powerful principles for personal and global transformation, honoring all paths to God. We help people experience a personal relationship with the Creator, promote communities rooted in tolerance, understanding, and respect, and offer classes, programs, prayer, and meditation. We also foster a safe spiritual environment for like-minded individuals who are interested in living a spiritually centered life.
Dr. Ernest Holmes founded the spiritual movement that became Centers for Spiritual Living. Born in 1887 on a small farm in Maine, Dr. Holmes spent his teenage years outdoors, asking himself, “What is God? Who am I? Why am I here?”
This deep questioning eventually led to the publication of his 1926 book, The Science of Mind, which outlined the foundational viewpoints of modern New Thought.
Science of Mind® (also referred to as Religious Science) is the core teaching of Centers for Spiritual Living.
Science of Mind is a philosophy that integrates spiritual truth with scientific principles. Simply stated, it teaches the unity of all life. Our intentions and ideas move through a field of consciousness that influences and shapes the world around us. This concept is shared by many major religions and is supported by principles found in psychology and quantum physics.
In Science of Mind, we believe that the key to living a successful and fulfilling life is the conscious choice of positive and productive thought. In other words, “As you think, so you become.”
Centers for Spiritual Living is committed to using Science of Mind principles as a force for good — transforming personal lives in order to help transform the world.
